Prior to retiring (so he thought) to Tellico Village in 1990 Walter Emmons had earned two degrees from the University of Tennessee and had spent over 30 years as General Counsel and member of various law departments for two financial services corporations.

Along with his wife, Betty Anne, these two have really done anything but retire. Betty Anne is active in the Tellico Village Women's Club and Walt has served on many Tellico Village Property Owners Association ad hoc and standing committees, is past president of the Friends of the Tellico Village Library, and is acting president of The Fort Loudon Association.
